Scheduled Itinerary:
Day 1 Arrive St. Foy Tarentaise. The Hotel Le Monal is one of our favorites. The food, hospitality and comfort of the inn are only matched by its location.
Day 2 Skiing today at the St. Foy station. a perfect warm-up day on the last great truly local’s ski area in the Isere valley. The possibility to ski all the way back to the village of St. Foy from the high point of the ski area would be the perfect cap off to our premier day.
Day 3 A short transfer brings us to La Plagne ski area. A sophisticated lift system accesses the massive terrain on the South side of the main valley. The off-piste terrain here is one of the best kept secrets in the entire region! The Bellecotte summit towers just above the good routes of the Glacier De La Chiaupe. Great outdoor restaurants are another highlight of our day in La Plagne.
Day 4 Today we head up to Les Arcs. After checking out the famed speed ski course, we will enjoy massive views from the big tram to the Aiguille Rouge. Vistas across the Italian Val d’ Aosta all the way to the Swiss border and the Monte Rosa itself are sure to please. Then it’s off to enjoy the skiing. The Grand Col lift, as well as the Aiguille Grive, are great options here. More big terrain and very little pressure on the off-piste possibilities!
Day 5 The transfer day to Val d’ Isere. After dropping our bags at the hotel we’re off to explore the skiing above ‘Val’. This is one of the most legendary of all French ski resorts. Today we will focus on the Solaise area above the village itself. An excellent introduction to the Espace Killy!
Day 6 Our ambitions today are targeted on Tignes. The skiing off the Grande Motte cable car is the stuff dreams are made of. The 3456 meter elevation make for winter like snow conditions despite the spring like atmosphere in the village.
Day 7 The final ski day of the trip and the chance to ski over the Col d’ Iseran and the high Glacier de Pissaillas. Easy access to long runs all the way past the Pont St. Charles to the hamlet of Le Fornet are a sure fire climax to our adventure in Val d’ Isere.
